The New York Yankees didn’t have a good season on the field, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have elite performers.
For a second consecutive season, Aaron Judge had a marvelous performance.
Only injuries stood between Judge and another historically relevant campaign, as a strained right hip and torn ligaments in his right big toe stole 56 games from him.
Still, he was excellent while on the field, with 37 home runs and a 1.019 OPS.
It’s the third time in his magnificent career that he surpassed a 1.000 OPS.
His on-field achievements, coupled with his off-the-field contributions for a better society, earned Judge the Roberto Clemente Award.
The player, through the Yankees’ official Twitter account, commented on the prestigious recognition.
“‘[Clemente] grew the game, and that’s something I want to continue to do… This is just the beginning. I’m looking forward to helping more kids along the way.’ – Aaron Judge on being the recipient of the 2023 Roberto Clemente Award,” they tweeted, quoting Judge.

Judge’s All Rise Foundation is known for its help of kids in the New York and San Francisco areas.
The Foundation was created in 2018 to inspire young kids to become responsible citizens.
It has helped more than 2,000 kids with mini grants and has put together an inspiring “aspiring leaders program”.
Judge, as a result, has learned how to use his fame and place in the world of baseball today for positive, impactful causes in our society.
He has become a positive leader not only for the Yankees, but also in his community.
