After the dust settled in the NBA on Monday night, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski sent the Twitterverse into a frenzy as he reported that the Philadelphia 76ers had agreed to a blockbuster trade to send superstar guard James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers.
This move left everyone shocked as it was recently reported that these two teams had put their trade talks on pause with the 2023-24 NBA season getting underway.
The Clippers seemed adamant about not budging with the trade package they were offering, which didn’t include Terance Mann.
It appears nearly everyone on the team’s roster outside of the top stars was available and was shipped to the 76ers to make this trade come to fruition.
With the Clippers having Harden, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George all on the same roster, Los Angeles has become a heavyweight in the Western Conference once again, but Nick Wright of FOX Sports believes this will not be a great team, via “First Things First.”
“In the West right now, unequivocally, I like the Nuggets, Warriors, Thunder & Suns more than the Clippers. I think I like the Mavs, Kings & Lakers more. That puts the Clippers in the Play-In area. This is not a great team.”

Wright took a shot at ESPN for saying the Clippers are the favorites to come out of the Western Conference.
It’s a bold statement to make the Clippers the favorite in the West against the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets, but that’s the way they’ve gone.
There’s no guarantee that this star-studded Big 4 will actually work in Los Angeles, as this new combination of veterans could become an absolute disaster.
It could go in the other direction as well, but Westbrook and Harden are loose cannons, and Leonard and George can’t stay healthy.
Only time will tell if ESPN got it right, but chances are they may have gotten ahead of themselves here.
