Even though the Cleveland Cavaliers have fared well as of late and look to be a perennial contender, it just seems like the New York Knicks have their number right now.
The Knicks beat them with ease in the playoffs, which is why the Cavaliers had that early-season rematch against them marked on their calendars.
Cavs star Evan Mobley admitted that they were using that playoff loss as motivation to get back at them on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately, that didn’t do much to help their case, as the Knicks escaped with an easy 109-91 win.
When asked about the situation, Knicks guard/forward Josh Hart took a bit of a shot at the Cavs, stating that they could use whatever they want as motivation, as at the end of the day, they simply don’t care (via Kristian Winfield).
Josh Hart on the Cavs using the playoff loss to the #Knicks as motivation: “You always see it, man. We don’t really care. That’s for them, man. If they wanna have that chip on their shoulder, that’s good for them.
“We don’t really care. We’re just sirloin steaks.”

Of course, it’s also worth noting that the Cavs were severely undermanned during Tuesday’s game, as Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland were out with injuries.
The Cavs added Max Strus to their team to try and make up for their evident lack of a wing that could help them close out games.
He’s been solid to start the year, but he struggled mightily in the game vs. the Knicks, scoring just six points despite playing 33 minutes.
The Knicks and Cavs will face off again tonight, this time at Madison Square Garden, and while Cavs players will definitely take notice of Hart’s comments and use them as even more fuel, they still need to figure out how to beat them on the court.
