James Harden continues to burn bridges in his chaotic NBA career.

He spent most of his introductory press conference with the Los Angeles Clippers taking shots at the Philadelphia 76ers, just like he’s done every single time he’s forced his way to a new team.

Harden stated that he was on a leash in Philadelphia and that he needed someone who trusted him and allowed him to play freely, adding that he’s a system and not a system player.

When asked about his comments about not being able to score or facilitate freely, Joel Embiid didn’t agree at all.

The reigning NBA MVP stated that the Sixers put the ball in Harden’s hands on every single possession, and it was up to him to make the best decision possible (via Dave Uram).

He lauded Harden and stated that the team trusted him to lead the offense because of how good he is as a facilitator, so he didn’t understand where those comments were coming from.

According to NBA insider Kevin O’Connor, Harden ranked second in the NBA in time possessing the ball per game last season, so it’s safe to say that he, indeed, had the ball in his hands often.

He also had said that he wanted to retire as a Sixer, which doesn’t make a lot of sense if he was never free or happy there.
