After crushing the competition on their way to the NBA Finals last season and making easy work of the Miami Heat in five games to win the franchise’s first title, the Denver Nuggets came into the 2023-24 NBA season with a lot of teams around the league reloading to contend with the defending champions.

Even though it’s early, with the Nuggets only playing in seven games thus far, Denver has been imposing their will once again, as they look like one of the best all-around teams in the league, with superstar Nikola Jokic playing at an MVP-caliber level.

As per usual, Jokic is filling up the stat sheet on a nightly basis for the Nuggets, as he hasn’t missed a beat from his incredible performance throughout the NBA playoffs and NBA Finals last season.

Jokic is currently in the top nine in four different categories so far this season, averaging 27.4 points (8th in the NBA), 12.7 rebounds (4th), 7.9 assists (8th) per game while shooting 63.9% from the floor (9th).

He can do it all and is showing no signs of slowing down as his team continues to roll, with a record of 6-1 so far and some high praise from head coach Michael Malone via NBA Retweet.

Michael Malone on Nikola Jokić:

“The guy is just great every night. You know how hard that is? Like, is anybody in here great at their job every day? I know you guys. I know you’re not.” pic.twitter.com/8uz1dRLRPK

Jokic is one of many star players who have turned some heads early in the season while putting themselves in the MVP conversation, as Luka Doncic, Stephen Curry, and Jayson Tatum have all made some noise.

With every team in the league gunning for the Nuggets, it’ll be interesting to see if the team and Jokic can keep up this level of play moving forward.
