The Dallas Mavericks were one of the most active teams since the beginning of the NBA offseason.

Mark Cuban made sure to keep Kyrie Irving locked in for the future, and they added some serious depth and a promising rookie in Dereck Lively II.

Some are still worried about their defense, but those concerns haven’t been an issue in the early stretch of the season.

The Mavs are 5-1 after six games, which is their best start to a season since 2004-05 (via StatMuse).

Needless to say, the fans had plenty to say about that, with some being afraid of this new-look team and others still being skeptical about their chances to dominate.

They haven’t played anyone good

This is still early in this season, but they’re starting to find who they can trust, who plays well together, how they fit…

Irving and Luka Doncic have meshed perfectly on the court, shutting down all doubts about them not being able to coexist.

Of course, they did lose to the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets, so they still need to prove that they can do their thing consistently against winning teams, but so far, so good for Jason Kidd’s team.

Irving is obviously one of the most talented players in the league, and there isn’t a lot we could say about Doncic that wasn’t public knowledge already.

It seems like this team now has more than enough firepower to outscore every single rival night in and night out.

And while there are some tweaks they still need to make, especially on the defensive end of the floor, they’re not the kind of team you want to come across in a seven-game series.
