Following a disappointing outcome in the FIBA Basketball World Cup, the NBA and Team USA are ready to bring in the best for the Paris Olympics next summer.
A group likely to be headlined by the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James will look to reclaim the top spot and make a statement in front of the entire planet, all while being coached by Steve Kerr.
Needless to say, that’s likely to be the last dance for several players with the national team.
And, according to The Athletic, it’s also going to be the last dance for Steve Kerr as Team USA’s coach, at least for the time being (via NBACentral).

The Golden State Warriors coach will reportedly leave his position as Team USA’s coach after the tournament, just like his predecessor, Gregg Popovich, did before Kerr’s appointment.
Kerr told The Athletic that it was always supposed to be a two-year cycle, adding that he was looking forward to passing the baton to whoever is next in line, unlike what happened during the years in which Jerry Colangelo and Mike Krzyzewski took over.
There’s obviously no shortage of great coaches who would be more than willing to take care of Team USA as it makes a transition towards a new era.
And while this year’s performance at the World Cup was far from impressive, the NBA has plenty of new faces ready to take a leap forward and carry the torch at the international level.
