At this time last year, the Memphis Grizzlies were seen as one of the NBA’s best teams.
They were a young team that was led by Ja Morant, one of the league’s brightest upcoming stars.
However, due to Morant’s off-court antics, he is suspended from the team for the first 25 games of the season.
His presence has been greatly missed thus far, as the Grizzlies have limped to a 1-6 record in his absence.
Stephen A Smith recently called out Morant in a recent video, saying “There are 30 teams, and the winless one has Ja Morant on their roster.”

The Grizzlies are not winless anymore thanks to a recent win over the Portland Trail Blazers, but Smith’s sentiment remains.
As he mentions, this team will likely be a lot better when Morant plays.
Morant is viewed as one of the league’s best ball handlers and is also known for his elite finishing ability at the rim.
His team needs him, but he is not eligible to return anytime soon.
At that point in the year, the Grizzlies’ record could be nearly impossible to overcome, rendering it difficult for them to make the playoffs at that rate.
Smith seems to want Morant to hear his latest rant, understanding that his actions have let his team down, which in turn have caused the Grizzlies to have the worst record in the Western Conference.
