The Brooklyn Nets lost Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving in the span of a year.
Needless to say, replacing that kind of offensive production is easier said than done, and there aren’t many players in the league who could put up 25+ points per game, even in today’s offensive-driven game.
Fortunately for Jacque Vaughn and company, they happen to have a young man who could do that night in and night out in Cam Thomas.
The LSU product was back at his best for the Nets during Monday night’s narrow loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, putting up 45 points in the losing effort.
That’s why Nets teammate Mikal Bridges had no choice but to tip his hat to him, and while he didn’t seem surprised about the numbers he was able to pull off, he did shower him with praise and called him their best scorer (via ClutchPoints).
“That’s who Cam is man, a certified bucket. He’s honestly our best scorer.”

Thomas finished the game with 45 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and six three-pointers on 51/83/37 shooting splits, all while logging just one turnover.
He’s been on a tear since the start of the year, proving to be one of the most promising and versatile scorers in the game and averaging a whopping 28.7 points per game, the seventh-highest in the league.
Thomas was supposed to be the Nets’ Sixth Man for the season.
But with Cam Johnson getting hurt early and him playing this well, that’s obviously going to change the entire picture, and don’t be shocked to see him making an All-Star or even an All-NBA team if he keeps this up.
