The Los Angeles Clippers could be a special team.
It might take them a while, but if they get there, there would be no stopping them.
James Harden was a seamless fit for the offense, even with little-to-no practice, no training camp, and no anything.
That’s why Skip Bayless was in awe of what he saw in his Clippers debut vs. the New York Knicks.
In the latest edition of his show, Bayless praised the often-controversial superstar, talking about how incredibly gifted he is in the game of basketball after being able to be plugged into the system and play the way he played.
“What I saw was a basketball player who is beyond gifted. James Harden had no camp and stepped on the floor against a hard-playing Knicks team at the Garden.” — @RealSkipBayless pic.twitter.com/vR0wyDkgb4

In all honesty, that wasn’t much of a surprise.
Harden is one of the most prolific playmakers of his generation, and the game just comes easily to him when he has the ball in his hands.
The Clippers’ offense stalled in the fourth quarter, and perhaps it would’ve been better to bench him and roll with the guys who were already familiar with the system.
Even so, they can afford to let him learn through his mistakes, as the upside is just too high.
One shouldn’t expect any team to be great overnight, regardless of how many superstars they put on the floor at the same time; this is not an All-Star or a pickup game.
But once these four guys get settled in and used to playing together, it will be hard to think of any team that could take them down in a seven-game series.
