Faithful fans of the Detroit Pistons were eagerly awaiting the new season because they felt this could be the year that things get back on track for the team.
That is not only because of a new coach and some other new recruits, but because of the team’s lead star, Cade Cunningham.
Cunningham has had a limited amount of time on the court during his short career but he’s back with a vengeance this year.
Legion Hoops pointed out on Twitter that he has put up some strong numbers so far in 2023-24.
He has scored double digits every night and has even reached a high of 33 points in one game.

This is the third season for Cunningham and it has the making to be his biggest yet.
The former number one draft pick missed most of last season due to an injury that allowed him to only play in 12 games.
During those 12, he averaged 19.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6 assists.
So far, he has put up 24 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists during his 9 games of 2023-24.
The Pistons see themselves at a crossroads right now.
They have several young stars on the roster, including Cunningham, Isaiah Stewart, newcomer Ausar Thompson, and others.
And during the summer, they signed Monty Williams after offering him the biggest coaching deal in NBA history.
They are clearly trying to get themselves on the right path and Cunningham is a huge part of that, seen as the team’s leader moving into this new chapter.
Despite all that promise and Cunningham’s great start, the team is just 2-7 so far.
Cunningham is giving fans something to believe in but this might not be the season they wanted.
