The Los Angeles Lakers came into the 2023-24 NBA regular season with high hopes of being a legitimate title contender in the Western Conference, as the team had made some solid moves in the offseason that were applauded by the masses.
Everyone seemed to expect that the Lakers would immediately get back to playing some top-level basketball, but that hasn’t been the case, as the team has been dealing with numerous injuries and some issues on the basketball floor in terms of being unable to play consistently well.
Despite some flashes of brilliance on the basketball floor, like ending their losing streak to the Los Angeles Clippers recently, the Lakers have been underwhelming as of late and are currently sporting a record of 3-5 without a single win on the road thus far.
Things got worse this week when superstar Anthony Davis went down with what was called a groin spasm, which cut his time short in the loss to the Miami Heat and resulted in his first missed game of the season against the Houston Rockets.
It appears this spasm could keep him out for more time, as he’s listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Phoenix Suns, according to Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Davis getting injured is inevitable on an annual basis as it is not a matter of if he’ll get hurt but when and how severe that injury turns out to be.
This year, the injury bug struck a bit earlier than anticipated, and it couldn’t have happened at a worse time, with the team dealing with numerous injuries, which could result in the Lakers being in a deep hole that they might not be able to dig out of this year.
