The Milwaukee Bucks are once again on the short list of teams that can win the NBA Finals.
Over the past few seasons, the Bucks have been one of the best teams in the NBA.
Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a big reason for their success.
But, Antetokounmpo was unsure about his future in Milwaukee this offseason.
He wanted the team to show him they were committed to winning.
Milwaukee was looking to make a move before the season that Antetokounmpo would approve of.
That is why they ended up trading for Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.
On Thursday night, the Bucks were playing without Lillard.
This meant Antetokounmpo had to take over the game for Milwaukee.
He did so by scoring a season-high 54 points while grabbing 12 rebounds.
Skip Bayless was impressed by this effort, calling Antetokounmpo “too tall and strong.”
“Giannis is just too young, tall and strong. When he gets the smallest edge on you, you’re what Shaq calls it, ‘BBQ chicken.‘”@RealSkipBayless on Giannis’ 54-point performance vs Pacers pic.twitter.com/4VihxUS6iR

There may not be a better post player in the NBA than Antetokounmpo.
He is unstoppable when going downhill and has even improved his free-throw shooting.
Many teams would intentionally foul the Bucks star when driving to the basket.
It was easy to do that when Antetokounmpo was so bad at free throws.
Last night, he made 16-18 from the line and those played a big role in his 54 points.
This was a vintage performance from Antetokounmpo in a game Lillard missed.
The only thing that went wrong for the Bucks was that they lost the game.
Milwaukee fell to 5-3 and continues to give up far too many points.
If they cannot get their defense figured out soon, their championship dreams can go out the window.
