The James Harden drama finally reached its end when the Los Angeles Clippers decided to send out Marcus Morris, Nicolas Batum, Robert Covington, KJ Martin and several draft assets to the Philadephia 76ers to acquire him and PJ Tucker.

Harden made it known in the offseason that the Clippers were his preferred landing spot and he got his wish during the early part of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Daryl Morey was intent on holding out for the right deal for Harden, and he got it from Los Angeles who felt the need to trade for the former MVP to bolster their hopes.

However, the Clippers have yet to figure out a way to fully integrate Harden as he and the team have struggled through three games.

Clippers are done

It’s way too early to say that the Clippers’ season is done, but the early results are far from encouraging considering what they gave up to get Harden.

The guard is clearly working his way back into game shape after missing most of training camp and preseason, and head coach Tyronn Lue admitted that his conditioning is affecting his play on the court.

Los Angeles fans have to be feeling a little anxious so far as this feels like the last season that the team has to try and win a title.

Owner Steve Ballmer has done everything he can to give the team what it needs to compete, but another letdown season could mean changes.
