The Los Angeles Lakers recently faced off against the Phoenix Suns during the NBA In-Season Tournament.
Considering the Lakers were winless on the road, the Suns were the favorites to register an easy victory over the Purple and Gold.
However, LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers with a brilliant performance as they won the game 122-119.
The key highlight of the matchup was the battle between LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
In fact, James and Durant became only the fifth pair of opposing players in NBA history to be 35 years old or older and score more than 30 points in the same game, as per ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter.
LeBron James and Kevin Durant are the 5th pair of opposing players, age 35 or older, to each score 30+ points in the same game. The others are:
– 2019: Dirk Nowitzki & Jamal Crawford
– 2001: Karl Malone & Michael Jordan
– 2001: Karl Malone & Reggie Miller
– 1984: Kareem… pic.twitter.com/KCQLSk2o7q

As mentioned in the above-attached tweet, James and Durant joined an elite list of players.
Prior to them, Dirk Nowitzki & Jamal Crawford, Karl Malone & Michael Jordan, Karl Malone & Reggie Miller, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar & Dan Issell were the previous pair of players who achieved this feat.
It’s an incredibly rare company to find themselves in, and it simply proves the level of talent that the two superstars possess.
LeBron James put up 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists against the Suns.
On the other hand, Durant had 38 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists against the Lakers.
It was a battle to remember for ages and NBA fans thoroughly enjoyed it.
Considering Durant and James are not getting any younger, there’s no guarantee on how many epic battles they have left in each other before hanging up their sneakers for good.
