It’s the dawn of a new era for the Las Vegas Raiders, and the same can be said in the Spillane household.

Raiders LB Robert Spillane was walking on clouds on Sunday night, and not just because of his team’s solid defensive performance.

Late in the primetime game vs. the New York Jets, Spillane picked off QB Zach Wilson to secure a 16-12 win, sending the whole stadium into a frenzy and making him the happiest man on Earth for a minute.

The thing is that following the interception and the win, Spillane let the world know that he and his wife are expecting a baby, and he couldn’t have chosen a better setting and moment to make that announcement (via Awful Announcing).

“My wife is actually pregnant. So we get to tell the whole world tonight that my beautiful wife will have our first baby here in June. So, I’m looking forward to it.”

This is perhaps the greatest moment in his career to date, and it was one of the most wholesome and heartwarming moments in the entire season.

This was just the fourth pick of his career, and the first since getting two in Week 5 against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.

Spillane’s interception helped the Raiders get their second win in a row and the second of the Antonio Pierce regime.

The Raiders are now 5-5 and, against all odds, now sit in second place in the AFC West.

The energy within the locker room has been so different since Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler left town, and it seems like the players are just willing to run through a brick wall for their new coach if that’s what it takes to win.
