The addition of Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks this summer had some people believing the team would get off to a terrific start in 2023-24.
And while they have certainly shown a lot of promise, the team isn’t the most dominant team in the East yet.
They have a 5-4 record and have had some troubling and tough games.
Speaking on “Run It Back,” Shams Charania said that new head coach Adrian Griffin and some of his plans have caused a few problems.

Charania reported that the issues with this team started before the season kicked off.
That was when assistant coach Terry Stotts left the Bucks after not seeing eye-to-eye with Griffin.
The loss of Stotts was tough for a couple of reasons.
Not only was their top assistant gone but they also said goodbye to someone who knew Lillard very well because of their years together with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Following that, Griffin’s decision to change the team’s defensive plans didn’t sit well with multiple players, including big man Brook Lopez.
Charania stated that Griffin acquiesced and changed things back to the way they were.
The Bucks defense has gotten better since that decision but the team has dug a pretty big hole for itself.
They are currently allowing 119.3 points per game, which ranks 29th in the league for points allowed.
They have just lost two games in a row against the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic.
There is no doubt that the Bucks still hold a lot of potential.
They could end up storming to the top of the Eastern Conference standings soon.
However, as of now, this is a team still trying to find its rhythm.
