After holding out for the Phoenix Suns to trade him, veteran forward Jae Crowder got his wish as he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, which was thought to be a step in the right direction for both teams.

Unfortunately for Crowder, he only played in 18 games during the 2022-23 NBA season, which obviously wasn’t ideal for him or the Bucks franchise.

It appears it could be more of the same for Crowder this season, as he’s only played nine games thus far for Milwaukee and now has gone down with another injury that will keep him out of the lineup for a considerable amount of time.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Crowder will have to undergo surgery and will miss at least the next two months, which is a big blow to the Bucks’ depth moving forward.

Bucks’ Jae Crowder will undergo surgery for left adductor and abdominal tear and will be sidelined for approximately eight weeks.

With the Bucks going all-in with the acquisition of superstar Damian Lillard to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee isn’t wasting any more time as the team wants to compete for a title every year with this duo together from here on out.

Losing Crowder is a costly blow to the bench, even though he wasn’t putting up monster numbers in the 26.7 minutes per game he was playing this season.

In nine games thus far in the 2023-24 campaign, Crowder averaged 8.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 53.2% from the floor and 51.6% from beyond the arc.

With Crowder expected to miss two months or more, it’ll be interesting to see what the Bucks do to help fill the void.
