The New England Patriots are going through a lot right now.
You know things are going bad on a team when they start releasing and scapegoating players mid-season.
They already pointed the finger at J.C. Jackson and didn’t get him on the plane to Frankfurt for their game vs. the Indianapolis Colts, and they’ve now released second-year CB Jack Jones.
When asked about why they decided to do that, HC Bill Belichick simply stated that ‘it was time to move on,’ according to Mark Reiss.

Jones’ snap count had gone down over the past two games, and he looked like a bystander on the sidelines more often than not.
He wasn’t exactly at his best on the field either, and the media had already asked the coach multiple times whether he felt like Jones was fully committed and engaged with the team.
According to a report by ESPN, Jones had missed a curfew before the team’s clash with the Washington Commanders, just like Jackson, who was punished by being benched in the first two drives of that game.
Jones played mostly as a backup in that game and only played 10 snaps in Frankfurt.
He had already made the rounds for the wrong reasons after being arrested earlier in the year on gun charges.
Also, he spent the first six games of the season on Injured Reserve with a hamstring injury, so nothing went his way since the start of the campaign.
Now, the former fourth-round pick will look to bounce back somewhere else while the Patriots continue to slide in the standings.
