Video Shows Start Of A New Mets Era

The New York Mets just finished a highly disappointing campaign, falling well short of pre-season expectations of winning a World Series.

They couldn’t even make the playoffs and finished fourth in their division.

Injuries, depth issues, and other problems got in their way.

The poor results caused manager Buck Showalter to lose his job.

The team, under new president of baseball operations David Stearns, had to search for a new manager as well.

They were interested in Craig Counsell until his shocking decision to join the Chicago Cubs.

As a result, they went with another young manager.

Unlike Counsell, however, he doesn’t have too much experience leading a team.

That doesn’t mean Carlos Mendoza is a bad hire, though.

Inexperience doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t have success as the new Mets manager.

The whole fanbase hopes that the exact opposite happens.

For now, there is optimism in town, with a capable head of baseball operations and a young manager who was introduced on Tuesday.

He will be leading a good team with great players, such as Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Kodai Senga, Edwin Diaz, and more.

Additionally, he has one of the richest owners in the game, Steve Cohen, who is also willing to spend to improve his team’s chances.

In short, Mendoza has everything in place to succeed.

Will he?

Only time will tell.

His managerial experience is limited to minor league teams with the New York Yankees, but there is no question that he knows a lot about baseball.
