Before the 2023-24 NBA regular season even began, there were rumors floating around about the Chicago Bulls and the team’s willingness to blow things up ahead of the NBA trade deadline in February if this squad led by star Zach LaVine was unable to turn things around.

So far, 11 games into the 2023-24 campaign, things aren’t looking all that promising for the Bulls, with the team sporting a record of 4-7 and seemingly showing no signs of getting this thing headed in the right direction moving forward.

The Bulls simply look like a mediocre basketball team at best despite having some talented players like LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, and Nikola Vucevic, who all could garner trade interest ahead of the trade deadline in a few months.

Even though things don’t look good right now with four losses in the last six games, LaVine seems to be holding out hope that the team can get back on track this season, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times via NBACentral.

With LaVine being the star attraction in Chicago while playing on an enormous contract, which will likely be tough to trade, it’s not all that surprising that he believes the team can turn things around this season.

This may very well be the last time LaVine gets to be the No. 1 option on a team in the NBA if this doesn’t work out in Chicago, as he will almost certainly be a No. 2 or No. 3 elsewhere if he gets traded before February’s deadline.
