The Minnesota Timberwolves struggled to beat the undermanned Golden State Warriors in one of the most bizarre games in recent NBA history.
With Stephen Curry already out with a knee injury, the Warriors also lost Klay Thompson and Draymond Green due to a scuffle.
Green put Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert in a headlock and was ejected shortly after, and the French star didn’t mince his words about that.
Following the game, Gobert stated that he wasn’t surprised to see that Green got into the scuffle, as he always tries to get himself ejected whenever Curry isn’t on the floor because he doesn’t like to play without Curry (Via Jon Krawczynski and NBA Central).
Rudy Gobert calls out Draymond Green
“Every time Steph doesn’t play, he doesn’t want to play without his guy Steph so he does anything he can to get ejected.”

Gobert doubled down on his comments by stating that Green didn’t even deserve that he put his hands on him, adding that he had to keep his cool because he knew his team needed him on the floor.
Notably, Green and Gobert go a long way back, as they went back and forth for the Defensive Player of the Year award years ago, and Green infamously called Gobert ‘soft’ on his podcast just last season.
This isn’t the first time that either Gobert or Green have been tangled up in these kinds of situations, and their reputation precedes both of them.
Then again, the French big man has a valid point when he talks about his team needing him, and Green should’ve taken the same approach, especially knowing the Warriors wouldn’t have their best player on the court.
