With ten games of the NBA season already in the books, people are already talking about the MVP race and whatnot.
There’s still plenty of basketball to be played, but judging by the early season, former NBA player Jay Williams made his way-too-early picks for MVP.
In the latest edition of ESPN’s Get Up, Williams stated that the MVP award is currently between Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum.

He argued that the Boston Celtics are playing like the best team in the league right now, and with Jayson Tatum operating in the pick and roll and elevating his game, he should be the leading candidate to take home the award.
Truth be told, Tatum has been playing at a stellar level, and he’s flirted with MVP contention for quite a while now, so he’s not an odd choice to get the award.
Then again, Williams is ignoring the fact that the reigning Finals MVP — who also happens to be a two-time MVP — has led his team to a 9-2 record — the best in the West and tied for the best in the league.
Nikola Jokic is once again posting video game-like numbers, leading his team to success without their second best player because of Jamal Murray’s injury.
At this point, it just seems like Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are never going to get the media’s respect or recognition.
What else do they have to do for them to talk about them? He’s literally averaging 30 points and 13 boards with 8 assists as a center.
