The New York Giants did wrong by Saquon Barkley in the offseason, and they might feel like they did just the right thing.
Barkley got hurt early in the season, and while he was able to come back shortly after, the team’s campaign was already going down the drain.
There’s absolutely nothing to play for right now other than a top-3 pick for Brian Daboll’s team, so Barkley can finally open up a little about his contract situation.
Barkley recently stated that loyalty means nothing in today’s game, taking a huge shot at the Giants for the way they treated him in the offseason.
With that in mind, Craig Carton stated on his show that Barkley is in for another long, drama-filled offseason.
“The Giants are going to franchise Saquon Barkley again. I think you’re going to see a very similar offseason for Saquon Barkley.”

In the latest edition of “The Carton Show,” he predicted that the Giants will just franchise-tag him again, adding that no other team will give up multiple picks to get an aging running back with a history of injuries.
That means that the Giants pretty much own his future right now, so he’ll have to make peace with the fact that he’s going to make roughly $12 million to play on a bad team for another season.
Barkley has been the best player on the team since he entered the league, and the Giants haven’t respected him at all over all those years.
