Bradley Beal was expected to play with the Phoenix Suns recently but plans changed quickly before tip-off and he was again benched due to injury.

That left people questioning when the three-time All-Star would be ready to suit up for his new team again.

Adrian Wojnarowski is now reporting that Beal is expected to miss “several more games” due to a sore lower back.

Beal will be re-evaluated in three weeks to see his progress.

This is a blow for the Suns, who have yet to really capitalize on the power of their new big three: Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Beal.

Since the start of the season, injuries have plagued that trio, although Durant has stayed healthy through it all.

Beal has only played three games for the Suns, scoring an average of 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.

He wasn’t able to start the season with the team and sat on the sidelines, only to finally suit up with his squad on November 8.

Now he will be out until the beginning of December at the earliest.

This isn’t good news for the Suns but it’s not very surprising either because the team knew that Beal was injury-prone when they signed him in the summer.

He hasn’t participated in a full season since 2018-19.

Still, the upside for Beal is quite large and, when healthy, he truly could become a team leader and focal point of the Suns offense.

The Suns have had a few bumps in the road so far this season and hold a 5-6 record currently, placing them as the ninth team in the West.

They will try to climb higher without Beal, now that Booker and Durant are playing together again.
