The Boston Celtics made some huge moves ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

They added players like Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, which makes them arguably the best team in the league.

A relatively underrated aspect of the current Celtics roster is the backcourt partnership of Holiday and Derrick White.

The two guards are blessed with insane defensive abilities, which ultimately help the Celtics in locking up elite guards around the league.

In fact, former player Jay Williams went as far as saying that White and Holiday are the best defensive backcourt in the NBA, via “Get Up” on Twitter.

“Derrick White and Jrue Holiday are the best defensive backcourt in the league,” Williams said.

A quality defense is always the building block behind successful teams in the NBA.

The Celtics are certainly blessed in that department during the 2023-24 NBA season.

Speaking of the duo’s performance, White is averaging 14.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game for the Celtics.

On the other hand, Holiday is putting up 13.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game for the 17-time NBA champions.

These are elite numbers from the dynamic duo, and they may help the Celtics ultimately end their championship drought since the 2007-08 NBA season.

On top of that, the Celtics also have stars like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Porzingis to not only take care of the offensive end of the floor but also help out defensively when required.

Keeping that in mind, it’s no surprise that the Celtics currently have a 9-2 record as they are the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
