The Minnesota Timberwolves fought back hard on Saturday and walked away with a tight 121-120 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
This victory brought the team’s record to 9-3 and now has them tied for the best record in the Western Conference, neck-and-neck with the reigning champions.
After the game, Jaden McDaniels was excited to talk to Bally Sports North about his teammate, Karl-Anthony Towns.
“He’s unguardable when he’s in his bag,” McDaniels said after Towns’ big night.
“When Kat’s hot, he can go far,” he added.

Towns was definitely hot during Saturday’s game with a stat line of 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists.
The 28-year-old big man has been dominant so far this season, carrying a record of 21.7 points, 9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.
After missing most of last season, Towns has come back with the obvious desire to make a statement and help his team do big things.
If the Timberwolves keep this up, they will have one of the biggest transformations of the season.
Last year, they scored a 42-40 record, earned the eighth seed, and got pushed out of the playoffs in the opening round.
This year, they look like a completely different team.
It’s not just Towns who is leading the charge in Minnesota, with Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards, McDaniels, and others all playing well too.
On Saturday night, Gobert scored a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, Edwards put up 23 points, and McDaniels scored 12 too.
The entire team seems to be on the same page again and making last season feel like a distant, nearly forgotten memory.
They have reached the top of the standings, but can they stay there?
If Towns keeps playing like he is and the rest of the squad continues to be reliable, there is no reason to believe this streak will end.
