The Kansas City Chiefs were shut down in the second half of a game for the fourth time in as many weeks.
Once again, it wasn’t because of Patrick Mahomes, but his receiving corps failed him when he needed them the most.
This time, it was speedster Marquez Valdes-Scantling as the one who stole the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
With less than two minutes left in the game, Mahomes threw an absolute dart 45 yards right into his receiver’s hands.
Then, the pass fell right through his fingers, he tripped, fumbled the football, and the Chiefs’ chances of winning the game went down the drain.
Needless to say, NFL Twitter went into a frenzy and mocked and called out Valdes-Scantling for costing his team the go-ahead touchdown on a perfectly thrown pass, which is why Tyreek Hill took to Twitter to defend his colleague.
Everybody thinking that catch easy at night in them lights

Cheetah stated that it’s not easy to catch that football at night under those bright lights, but that wasn’t perhaps the best argument he could’ve come up with.
Valdes-Scantling is there with the sole purpose of making those sorts of catches, and if the lights are too bright, perhaps he should practice at night to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
The Chiefs are going through a funk, and the supporting cast must step up; there’s no more room or time for excuses.
