Fans of the Detroit Pistons were hoping that 2023-24 would be the season that things turned around for the troubled team.
While there are still many more months in the season, it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen.
NBACentral made a startling point: the Pistons have only won four regular-season games since February 12, 2023.
They are 4-36 in their last 40 games.

Hopes were high, briefly, at the start of the season when the Pistons won games against the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls.
But since then, they have fallen during every single game.
They have come close to victory a few times, including in games against the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.
But close doesn’t count in the NBA and they are still the worst team in the league once again.
The team has several amazing young stars on the roster as Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson, Jalen Duren, and others have a whole lot of potential.
They also have one of the most beloved and talented coaches in the league in Monty Williams.
Still, they are so far away from being a competitive squad that fans are wondering what has to be done in order for them to get back on track.
Does the front office need to trade away some of the young up-and-comers in exchange for players who are more accomplished and established?
Should they just wait for the next draft and try their luck then?
It has been a very long time since the Pistons were playoff contenders.
Despite some fantastic youthful players, a great coach, and a loyal fanbase, the struggles continue for Detroit.
