The Pittsburgh Steelers need a reboot on offense.
That is why they fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada on Tuesday.
Even though Canada was holding the offense back, quarterback Kenny Pickett has to play better.
Pickett was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
He has not lived up to the hype of that selection.
In fact, Pickett has been one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL this year.
Pickett has started all 10 of the Steelers’ games this year, and he has thrown for six touchdowns and four interceptions.
Also, in terms of Estimate Points Added per play, Pickett is the fifth worst in the NFL.
Even with all the negatives surrounding Pickett, his teammates have not given up on him.
According to Brooke Pryor, Steelers wide receiver Allen Robinson said: “Confidence is high. At the end of the day, the lows and stuff that we have had on offense doesn’t come down to one person.”

The Steelers players are saying the right things to the media, but they may feel differently behind closed doors.
Pittsburgh does have some talented pass catchers on offense, but Pickett has struggled to get them the ball.
The offensive coordinator can only do so much, and it is time for Pickett to show he is a capable quarterback.
The Steelers have seven regular-season games left and are still in playoff contention.
Depending on how Pickett plays will either give Pittsburgh confidence about the direction of their franchise or have them looking for a new quarterback in the offseason.
