It was November 22, 2012, and the Jets were playing on Thanksgiving night.

They hosted Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium.

In the second quarter, then-Jets QB Mark Sanchez literally stumbled upon his teammate, Brandon Moore, and it resulted in a fumble loss.

Patriots defender Steve Gregory picked up the football and took it all the way back to the end zone for a touchdown, and the Patriots ended up winning, 49-19.

That would be a way to sum it up, but there was way more to it.

In reality, Sanchez dove right into Moore’s backside, and the never-ending replays to review the play only made it all the more hilarious and iconic.

Sanchez failed to make a good read, missed the handoff, and dove face-first into his teammate’s rear end, thus giving birth to the most hilarious miscue in NFL history and a play that wound up marking Sanchez’s career until the end of time.

Even Jets fans have to admit that this was just hilarious.

Of course, that 49-19 loss may have ruined a lot of peoples’ Thanksgiving.
