Bad news seems to be a common theme for the Los Angeles Chargers this season.
Not only have the Chargers underperformed what was expected of them this year, but the injury bug has hit this team hard.
The latest casualty was Joey Bosa, who is now on injured reserve due to his recent foot sprain.
Bosa is one of their best defenders in the NFL when healthy, so this injury is a massive blow to their overall defensive output.
To start to replace his production, the Chargers have elevated linebacker Andrew Farmer II to their 53-man roster, according to Ian Rapoport.
The #Chargers are signing OLB Andrew Farmer II to the 53-man roster, promoting a player whose work ethic coaches have raved about.

As Rapoport mentions, Farmer could be a great addition to this team.
While nobody can truly replace Bosa, if his work ethic is anything like the team has pointed out, he could start to make a name for himself in the NFL.
Farmer has been a member of their practice squad, an undrafted rookie from this year’s crop of new talent.
He will get a true opportunity on this defense, a unit that has struggled as of late.
The Chargers have a long road ahead of them to make a potential playoff run, an opportunity that could soon be eliminated if current trends persist.
Regardless of how their season plays out, Farmer should have a great chance to show his worth to the organization.
This is a win-win situation for the Chargers.
If Farmer plays well, they promoted the right player who could have a more established role moving forward.
If he struggles, the team isn’t put out and can either release him or send him back to the practice squad.
