The Detroit Lions have been as good as advertised this season, perhaps even better.
The Dan Campbell effect has completely turned this franchise around, and, as usually happens with winning teams, they could lose some key staff members in the offseason.
According to NFL reporter Jay Glazer, Lions’ OC Ben Johnson is expected to be one of the most sought-after people in terms of potentially taking over as a head coach for another team, which is far from shocking, considering the fact that offensive coordinators often draw the most attention in coaching cycles.

Then again, Glazer added that Campbell’s authenticity has also changed the way some GMs are going to make their HC hires in the future, which has already started with the Las Vegas Raiders choosing Antonio Pierce as their interim coach.
Johnson has been a quick riser in the league.
His coaching career started at Boston College in 2009 as a graduate assistant, then became a tight ends coach in 2011.
He joined the Miami Dolphins as an offensive assistant next season, being promoted to assistant QB coach after just one year.
Johnson stayed with the organization until 2019.
Then, the Lions hired him as an offensive quality control coach, later taking over as tight ends coach, and eventually being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2022.
The Detroit Lions have one of the most proficient offenses in the league right now, both on the ground and in the air, so it’s not a surprise to see the 37-year-old becoming a highly coveted asset in NFL circles.
