Over the summer, the Los Angeles Lakers were praised for putting together arguably the deepest roster in the NBA, as they were able to re-sign key players while also bringing in proven veterans to help bolster the roster.

One of the key players the Lakers were able to bring back during the NBA offseason was Rui Hachimura, who the team acquired in a trade with the Washington Wizards earlier in the 2022-23 campaign.

Although Hachimura has played well for the Lakers when he’s been on the floor this season, he’s only played in 12 of the 16 games for Los Angeles so far, as he’s dealt with a few different injury issues.

Unfortunately for the Lakers, Hachimura is set to miss even more time, as he recently underwent a procedure to repair a nasal fracture, which will result in him missing at least a week before he’s reevaluated, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

Another setback for the Lakers: Rui Hachimura underwent a procedure to repair a nasal fracture today, the team announced. The injury occurred in the Mavericks game on Wednesday. He will be reevaluated by team doctors in approximately one week.

Even though the Lakers were considered one of the deepest teams in the league coming into this season, that depth hasn’t really helped them due to the roster being ravaged by injuries only a few weeks into the 2023-24 NBA regular season.

Along with Hachimura set to miss some time again, the Lakers still have yet to see Jarred Vanderbilt play a single minute this season due to his heel injury and also have Cam Reddish dealing with a groin injury and Gabe Vincent battling through a knee issue.

It appears this season could be another rough one for the Lakers in terms of dealing with injuries.
