With the Zach Wilson experiment now officially over for the New York Jets, the team turned to backup quarterback Tim Boyle to be their starter on Friday to take on the division-rival Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium.

As expected, the Boyle era of the Jets didn’t get started as the team had hoped, with the Dolphins making easy work of the Jets on Black Friday as New York didn’t stand much of a chance against their division rivals.

Outside of one touchdown pass thrown to star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, nothing really went right for the Jets offensively, as Boyle struggled from start to finish.

With Boyle not turning a lot of heads with his performance against the Dolphins, which didn’t look much different from what Wilson was able to do, head coach Robert Saleh is already getting questions about whether he’ll make a change at quarterback for next week’s game.

According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Saleh was asked if he would consider starting Trevor Siemian at quarterback in Week 13, and it seems as though he’s not ready to make that decision as of yet.

Against the Dolphins, Boyle completed 27 of 38 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, which obviously won’t get the job done on a regular basis for the Jets unless their defense really steps up and puts points on the board.

With Boyle’s performance nothing to be proud of nor good enough to merit another start, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Saleh give Siemian a shot next week when they face the Atlanta Falcons.
