Despite being in Year 21, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James continues to defy expectations as he is playing like one of the best players in the league during the 2023-24 NBA season.
The Lakers came into the year hoping Anthony Davis would assume the mantle as the best player on the roster, but James has been the one holding it down as he’s been on a tear scoring the basketball recently.
James recently became the first player in NBA history to score 39,000 points, a massive accomplishment for someone who considers themselves more of a playmaker than a scorer.
Although Los Angeles has had an up-and-down season, it isn’t James’ fault as he’s doing his part in order to keep the team afloat.
At 38 years old, James is re-defining how long players can play for and he’s doing things that no one has ever been able to do in league history.
Stephen A. Smith has been adamant that Michael Jordan remains the greatest of all time, but Kevin Garnett proclaimed James as his GOAT via Smith’s personal Twitter account.

Garnett and James had several playoff matchups against each other and the two were bitter rivals almost to the end.
However, now that he’s retired Garnett has been able to appreciate what James is doing at this stage of his career and said he wanted to give the Lakers star his flowers.
James has earned the respect of his peers and will definitely go down as one of the greatest players to ever come through the league.
