The Philadelphia Eagles hope to get a big boost for next week’s high-flying matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Eagles OT Lane Johnson is still day-to-day after missing their Week 12 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills.
#Eagles Pro Bowl OT Lane Johnson is considered day-to-day after the MRI on his groin on Sunday, sources say, and he has not been ruled out for Philly’s showdown with the #49ers. Johnson practiced fully last week, was not on the injury report, but reported soreness Sunday morning.

The 33-year-old star was out with a groin injury despite practicing in full the whole week.
He was listed as questionable with groin soreness before the game, and while he received treatment and had an MRI prior to the contest, he was eventually ruled out.
That was the first game he’d missed all season, and he’s been vital to the team’s success.
Also, he missed two games last year and four in 2021, and given his age and importance, it makes sense that Nick Sirianni decided to play it safe with him.
Johnson is one of the best RTs in the game and a pivotal part of the Eagles’ elite offensive line.
Everybody talks about the “tush push” and how Jalen Hurts’ rushing touchdown highlights are mostly QB sneaks inches away from the end zone, but that’s only possible because of guys like Johnson and the outstanding job they do.
Not having him on the field for a date with one of the toughest defensive lines in the league could be a game-changing blow, which is another reason why the Eagles may have chosen to rule him out of the contest.
Their clash with the Niners will be a potential NFC Championship Game preview, and they’ll want to have all their stars available.
