The Philadelphia 76ers were more than ready to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.

Nick Nurse’s team handed LeBron James the worst loss of his career.

That 44-point blowout was also the largest Sixers win over the Lakers in their 290 matchups, and the fourth-worst loss in Lakers history overall.

Needless to say, that gave Sixers’ big man Paul Reed bragging rights over Anthony Davis.

Prior to the game, Reed called Davis a ‘flopper’ and stated that he needed to stay out of foul trouble because he would be flailing all the time.

Following the win, Reed doubled down on his comments, stating that he wasn’t fazed or bothered about having to back up the talk on the court, adding that he’s now playing for ‘something different’ (Via Keith Pompey).

Paul Reed was unfazed by a possible encounter with Lakers center Anthony Davis after calling the All-Star a”flopper.” Here’s why:

“I’m playing for something different right now,” Reed said. “I like where I am. I’m not getting complacent, though. I’m still starving for more, and…

Reed did do a good job of staying out of foul trouble, but it’s not like he was on the court for that much anyway.

He scored nine points with three rebounds and two steals in 17 minutes, getting called for just one foul.

As for Davis, he scored 17 points on 14 shots and grabbed 11 rebounds with two assists, one steal, and one block, logging four fouls in 32 minutes.

Davis was his team’s second-leading scorer behind LeBron James (18) on a night that nothing went in the Lakers’ favor.

And while Reed isn’t a star by any means, and chances are he never will, he can still brag about getting the best of Davis and the Purple and Gold in this matchup.
