The NFL’s MVP race has been dominated by quarterbacks over the past decade.
In years past, there has been a quarterback who has played significantly better than their competition, running away with the MVP race.
There have been a few quarterbacks to stake a claim in this race in 2023, but there has not been a clear front-runner thus far.
Dak Prescott has led the Dallas Cowboys to great success and has played some of his best football over the past several weeks.
This has brought him into the MVP conversation, which he recently talked about in a conversation with The Athletic shared via Jon Machota.
Prescott mentioned that being in this conversation “means I’m playing well.”
Dak Prescott on being in the MVP conversation: “It means I’m playing well. Simple as that. Not really (that important). I’m about one goal and it’s a big team goal and I know if my name’s in there that means we’re playing well, so that’s great. But at the end of the day, we’re…

However, he also recognized that, while this is a big honor, “I’m about one goal and it’s a big team goal.”
The Cowboys are one of the top teams in the NFC, and Prescott has done a lot to bring them to the position they are in.
They have an opportunity to make a strong push to the playoffs, and perhaps make some noise when they get there.
With that in mind, if he wins the MVP award but the Cowboys have an early-round playoff exit, this award will not matter that much to him.
It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys attack the rest of the season, and how Prescott will continue to compete moving forward.
The NFC is top-heavy, with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers leading the way.
Can Prescott help lead the Cowboys to significant success, something that has eluded them recently?
