The 2022-23 regular season was a forgettable campaign for the Los Angeles Lakers despite making a plethora of moves to bolster the roster, including adding Patrick Beverley.

Many believed that adding a defensive-minded guard would solve a lot of issues for the Lakers, but that didn’t turn out to be true.

Beverley was traded by the Lakers in the middle of the season, which led to the veteran guard holding a grudge against the team.

A perfect example of it was when Beverley made it his personal mission to stop Austin Reaves from making a shot in the third quarter on Monday and the 35-year-old shared the motivation behind the defense, via his official Twitter handle.

Beverley replied to a clip shared by Barstool Sports that showcased how the veteran guard played lockdown defense against Austin Reaves.

The Philadelphia 76ers star revealed the motivation was when Reaves did the “too small” celebration against him.

Well, to be honest, Reaves was simply hitting back at Beverley, who did this celebration first, after getting traded from the Lakers.

All things considered, Beverley is someone who never forgets to take revenge on his rivals.

Speaking of the game, the Lakers were utterly outclassed by the 76ers, as the final score stood at 138-94 in favor of the home team.

Beverley certainly played with a chip on his shoulder as he recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in 24 minutes of playing time.

Considering Beverley is averaging just 2.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game for the Lakers, he certainly brought his A-game to the table against the Lakers.
