The Los Angeles Chargers’ record might not be what the team had hoped coming into the year given the amount of talented players on their roster.
Many analysts talked about the Chargers having a top-10 team heading into the 2023 NFL Season, as they have strength on both sides of the ball.
One of their top defensive players is Khalil Mack, who was traded to the Chargers in 2022.
Mack is not only one of the Chargers’ best players, but head coach Brandon Staley recently called him “one of the special players you guys have ever watched” per a team transcript via Around The NFL.

Mack has been a brute defensive force on each team he has played for.
He made a monumental impact on the Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears and is now helping the Chargers’ defensive front.
The team might not be performing to their preseason standards, but Mack has done his part, as Staley points out.
Mack has 13 sacks on the season, good for third place among league leaders.
He has also forced four fumbles, indicating his strength and ability to get to opposing ball-carriers.
Mack is putting this season together at 32 years old.
He continues to show that he has plenty of gas left in the tank, inspiring confidence in the younger Chargers players around him.
It will be interesting to see what he does in the offseason, given that he is tied to the Chargers for one more year.
Can the organization prove to him that they will be in a position to compete at this time next season?
