The Dallas Mavericks are playing very good basketball right now.
They came from behind to get a huge win over the Houston Rockets and clinch a spot in the In-Season Tournament’s quarterfinals, dominating down the stretch with their two-headed monster.
That’s why coach Jason Kidd would love to see mainstream media focusing on how good the team has been this season as much as they did on how poorly they fared as soon as they got Kyrie Irving last year (via Ball is Life).
JASON KIDD: “I’m giving you a f***** answer. It’s alright to write positive stuff. People will read your positive s***. You don’t always have to be negative. The world is already negative enough. Let’s see some positive stuff on positive people…” pic.twitter.com/hAzOqF55Ld

Kidd seemed calm while talking to the media, but he was clearly angry.
He stated that the world is negative enough for the media to always focus on the negative, adding that people would still read positive reports, so it’s about time they start pointing out how good they are right now.
The Mavericks are sitting on an 11-6 record and the third spot in the Western Conference.
They were expected to fare much better this season after making several additions to their team, looking to improve their defense and add more size.
Of course, there are still some serious issues to address, especially defensively, but they look quite comfortable and obviously have more than enough scoring to outshoot almost every team in the league.
As for Kidd’s request, it’s hard for the media to ignore when things go as bad as they did last season, especially considering they had put together two of the most talented scorers in NBA history and still couldn’t figure things out.
