The 2023 NFL season is starting to wind down, with only a handful of games left to be played for every team in the league and some of the NFL’s best teams trying to make a statement before heading into the playoffs.
On Sunday, one of the best matchups of the season will take place, with an NFC Championship Game rematch set to be played between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
It seems that all signs are pointing to an epic showdown between these two NFC heavyweights, with both teams more than worthy of making it all the way to the Super Bowl.
Last year, the 49ers fell short against the Eagles, with quarterback Brock Purdy going down with an injury early in the game and the team having exhausted their options at the quarterback position.
This time, these two teams hope to be 100% healthy during this showdown of arguably the two best teams in the league, with Purdy potentially shouldering the blame if things go sideways for San Francisco, according to Joy Taylor of FOX Sports via “Speak” on FS1.

Taylor believes that if the 49ers fall short against the Eagles once again, head coach Kyle Shanahan will not be to blame because Purdy will be the one taking all the criticism.
That may very well be the case if Purdy struggles, but it could go the other way if Shanahan has some suspect play-calling or makes the wrong decision on a crucial play.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in this showdown between two of the league’s elite teams and who may be labeled the fall guy once the dust settles.
