Some reporting from inside the struggling Detroit Pistons says the team is going to resist the urge to panic and make significant changes.

But NBA insider Bobby Marks isn’t so sure about that.

According to NBACentral, Marks recently said the Pistons could pick up the phone and inquire about acquiring Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine.

“I would not be surprised if they dip their toe into Zach LaVine and see what his market is,” Marks said.

The Pistons have a long list of problems and LaVine would solve some of them.

This season, he is recording 21 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game on 44.3% from the floor.

The two-time All-Star could be a centerpiece of the Pistons, could bump up the team’s offense, and also bring some much-needed experience to the lineup.

Of course, it remains to be seen what the Pistons would give up for LaVine – and if the Bulls would accept the offer.

LaVine is a high-level player and Chicago would require high-level talent in his place.

That means the Pistons would have to trade away a lot of their future to get LaVine by sending off multiple young stars.

As for LaVine, he would likely be disappointed to go to a team that is having a much harder time than the Bulls.

Few players would be legitimately excited to play for a squad that is in the midst of a 17-game losing streak.

Is there any way that a deal around LaVine would make sense for the Pistons and Bulls?

The Pistons obviously want to start winning and the Bulls reportedly desire to make changes soon so perhaps this could be a match that works.
