Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts is one of the most gifted athletes you will see.
He is not only an elite baseball player, but is also a world-class bowler and an excellent football and basketball player, among other disciplines.
He was born to play sports.
In baseball, he is also able to play multiple positions.
He came up through the Boston Red Sox ranks in the mid-2010s as a second baseman, but was later converted to the outfield full-time and won multiple Gold Glove awards there.
The Dodgers started taking advantage of his winning mentality and versatility in 2022, deploying him as an outfielder, second baseman, and sometimes even shortstop.
With the team’s decision to re-sign outfielder Jason Heyward, it was initially believeed Betts was going to see a lot of time at second base in 2024.
That sentiment was confirmed by his manager on the Dodgers, Dave Roberts.
He will now be the Dodgers’ starting second baseman.
“‘It’s pretty safe to say that Mookie Betts is going to be our everyday second baseman.’ – Dave Roberts on #HighHeat,” MLB Network tweeted, with the skipper’s remarks.

Betts is a phenomenal outfielder, but his quickness, instincts, and high baseball IQ make him a fine middle infielder, too.
Now, the Dodgers will have an elite offensive performer (.900 career OPS, 39 homers, and 107 RBI in 2023) at a premium position, liberating an outfield corner for Heyward’s productive bat and fellow outfielders James Outman and Chris Taylor.
Now the Dodgers are a couple of good pitchers away from being, once again, the favorites in the NL West.
