It’s not a secret that Alabama is a never-ending source of NFL talent, including this year’s No. 1 pick, Bryce Young.

But Nick Saban’s team is no longer the team to beat in CFB, not even in the SEC, and it’s been like that for a while now.

Even so, the Crimson Tide was still selected to make the playoffs, even ahead of the undefeated Florida State Seminoles.

Needless to say, that prompted plenty of controversy around the sports industry.

Miami Dolphins star QB Tua Tagovailoa made an appearance on the ManningCast for Monday Night Football’s clash between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals.

There, he admitted that he didn’t know if having Alabama over Florida State was fair or right (via ClutchPoints).

“I don’t think its fair.  But do I think it’s right? That too, I don’t know,” Tagovailoa said.

The Seminoles went undefeated with a 13-0 record en route to an ACC championship.

Their season included wins over LSU and Jayden Daniels.

They also beat Clemson in overtime.

However, losing their starting quarterback, Jordan Travis, likely forced the selection committee to make this decision.

Travis broke his leg during their game vs. North Alabama, and with backup Tate Rodemaker suffering a concussion, true freshman Brock Glenn was in charge of leading the offense from that point.

Even so, it doesn’t make any sense to have an undefeated team from a major conference missing the playoffs just because of that.

This was one of the most controversial decisions in selection committee history, and that’s a lot to say.
