Ever since Brock Purdy burst onto the scene in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers last season after taking over for veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, he’s had his fair share of critics trying to downplay what he does under center and prove he’s not as good as what his stats suggest.
Well into his second season with the 49ers, the critics are in full force once again, with every one of them waiting for the young quarterback’s downfall.
Fortunately for Purdy, even after a few tough moments this season, he’s proven to be the real deal and the right man for the job for the 49ers, but that hasn’t stopped the constant doubt and criticism from those in the media like Nick Wright of FOX Sports.
Wright believes that Purdy is a product of his environment, and the only reason he’s having success is because of all the talent around him in San Francisco.
The FOX Sports pundit thinks that Purdy is the fourth-best player on offense for the 49ers, via “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”
“I think he is the fourth most valuable player on his offense. I think Trent Williams, Christian McCaffrey and Deebo are all more valuable.”

With players like Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey, and Trent Williams helping him succeed on offense each and every week, Wright isn’t completely wrong, as there is an argument for Purdy being the fourth-best player on the squad.
However, it doesn’t matter if the 49ers are winning games and taking steps closer to being legitimate Super Bowl title contenders.
In Week 14, Purdy and company will go head-to-head against the Seattle Seahawks in a game they need to keep up their winning ways and take a step closer to winning the NFC West division title.
