The New York Knicks have always been a big-market team since their arrival to the NBA in 1946.

Despite that, the Knicks haven’t really been able to attract a lot of big-name free agents during their 78 seasons of existence.

Sure, the dynamic duo of Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle is doing a great job of leading the Knicks to some important wins.

But many feel like the organization can reach new heights if they decide to trade for an NBA superstar sooner rather than later.

NBA analyst Shams Charania revealed that the Knicks are planning to do just that if a star player becomes available soon via Run It Back on Twitter.

“[The New York Knicks] are monitoring the marketplace, they want to see if there’s a star player that’s available,” Charania said.

As we mentioned earlier, the New York Knicks have one of the biggest markets in the entire league.

Despite that, the Knicks have failed to land superstars due to the lack of a solid supporting cast.

As of now, the Knicks have resolved that problem, and a potentially disgruntled superstar could find his new home in New York.

Moreover, the Knicks are currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-8 record.

Considering the Knicks made it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals last season, the organization plans to surpass that achievement in the 2024 postseason.

But in their current state, the Knicks will most likely be unable to battle against the likes of the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks.
