Most NBA teams get their in-season reinforcements via trade or digging deep into the free-agent market, but the Denver Nuggets aren’t like most NBA teams.
Instead, their biggest reinforcement came from in-house, as Jamal Murray is finally back on the court, and that’s huge for Mike Malone’s team.
Besides his well-known scoring prowess, he just makes a big emotional impact on the team.
That’s why The Athletic’s Shams Charania said on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back” that getting Murray back to full strength is actually going to be the biggest move the Nuggets can make all season.

Murray has already proven what he’s capable of come playoff time, and he’s their closer most of the time, serving as the perfect sidekick for Nikola Jokic.
On top of that, Charania states that Murray doesn’t like to play unless he feels like he’s 100% because he often leaves it all on the court, which is why he wanted to take a little longer to recover from his nagging hamstring injury.
The reigning NBA champions haven’t been as solid this season because of Murray’s injury, but they’ve already proven that they can go toe-to-toe with any team in a seven-game series when they’re at full strength.
And while they continue to be overlooked by most NBA media outlets, they’re still the defending champions, and there’s a reason why they’ve been the most consistent force in the Western Conference for the past three years or so, so don’t sleep on them now that Murray is back on the floor.
