One of the biggest surprises in the NBA during the 2023-24 regular season, with about 20 games played for the majority of teams in the league, is the success the Minnesota Timberwolves have had thus far.

The Timberwolves currently have the best record in the league, with Anthony Edwards and company dominating the competition on a nightly basis on their way to a 16-4 start to the season, which is much better than expected for Minnesota.

After an unfortunate collapse in the NBA playoffs last year, with star center Rudy Gobert getting into an altercation with teammate Kyle Anderson, it seemed as though the Timberwolves might shake things up this summer with a trade or two.

However, that didn’t happen, which led to a lot of uncertainty heading into this season, but so far, the team has been firing on all cylinders and could be transforming into a legitimate title contender in the Western Conference.

Even though it seemed as though the relationship between Edwards and Gobert was strained after comments made by the rising star, he appears to have changed his tune on Gobert, who is currently favored to win his fourth NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, via Legion Hoops.

Even though the Timberwolves have gotten off to an impressive start to the 2023-24 campaign, only time will tell if this team can continue to play at a high level over the course of the 82-game season and into the NBA playoffs.

Along with the Timberwolves, the Oklahoma City Thunder have also started strong at 13-7, but these young teams can struggle down the stretch.
